Free envelope budget planner

A little structure.
Your own priorities.

Make a plan for the money you have. Start from scratch or try the clearly labeled sample, then change it to fit your life.

Give your money a job.

Choose one period, such as this month or until payday. Only include money you can actually use. Blank envelope fields count as zero.

Exclude credit limits and income you have not received.

Put each expense in one envelope so you don’t count it twice. Include debt payments and irregular bills where needed.

How to use this envelope budget calculator

  1. Choose a period and enter money already available to use.
  2. Allocate essentials, everyday spending, goals and a reserve. Don’t count the same expense in two envelopes.
  3. Review the result. If you have assigned too much, adjust the plan. If money remains, choose where it belongs.
  4. Check when bills fall due. This calculator totals allocations; it does not model the timing of individual payments.
